My initial post introduced you to the 1960 Chris Craft motor boat and illustrated the removal of the boats interior. After that, the engine needs to be removed, the boat flipped over and the hull replaced.
In between these major events, I will clean the inner hull, label/remove electrical wires and excavate the bilge looking for wood rot & structural failures.
Next we disconnect the propeller shaft, before that you need to remove the rudder, before that you need to remove some connective nuts and bolts, before that…
Shaft coupling is frozen to the propeller shaft, as is the propeller. Both currently soaking in WD-40, we will wait until the engine is removed to use a pulley/pressure system… You know STM - Shade Tree Mechanics :-)
Now the propeller shaft is uncoupled from the engine. I will test the engine in the boat, provide cooling water, seek normal operating temperature, look for water in the new oil.
